Enquiry/need

Linda wanted to get advice on career changes so she went to see one of our advisers. She has been enquiring on different things to get help on moving career, so she has been to see us several times. She wasn't happy in her job, she was finding it hard to work at weekends and get childcare.

Details of the session

Linda found the adviser very helpful, helping her with job applications, giving her advice on how to fill in different forms. They also completed an action plan.

After the sessions Linda had more clear thoughts about where she was headed and was focused on selling herself well on application forms for jobs.

Outcome

Linda says about the National Careers Service service

"It has made a massive difference, it has improved my confidence and I believe if I did not contact you I would be still looking for another job. I am happy to say that I have got a new job as Teaching Assistant and I am looking forward to starting it! I am also looking forward to spending more quality time with the kids during the weekend".
